1. The Scale Jump: From the State to the Supranational Oligarchy
Up to this point, we have seen how the modern State has transformed into an “Empty Machine,” an entity that no longer protects its citizens but uses them to justify its own existence. We have demonstrated how institutions force the individual to act against their own social DNA. However, in today’s architecture, the Nation-State is no longer the apex of the food chain. It has become merely a cog in a larger monster.
The governments we elect (the Vertical Vectors of Nations) have surrendered their sovereignty—that is, the coercive force necessary to protect the economy and borders of their own ecosystem—to supranational entities. Explanatory Example: A citizen votes for a Prime Minister hoping he will save his factory from closure or stop illegal immigration. The Prime Minister is elected, but throws his hands up and declares: “I cannot do it, Europe does not allow it, the Treaties forbid it.” The national government has turned into a simple bankruptcy liquidator, a “paper-pusher” tasked with making citizens digest decisions made elsewhere.
Organizations like the European Union (EU) or the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) are not “communities of peoples.” In the metrics of relational physics, they are pure Bureaucratic Oligarchies. They do not possess a real people, they shed no blood, and they share no emotional bond (mediated by neurotransmitters) with the base of the pyramid. They are structures composed exclusively of unelected officials (technocrats), banking algorithms, and military committees.
In these super-structures, the bureaucracy’s survival instinct (Autopoiesis) reaches its terminal stage. Their biological imperative is not to guarantee the peace or well-being of human networks, but to expand and justify their astronomical budgets.
2. The Imperial Weapon: Human Rights as a Bludgeon Against Peoples
To understand how the European Union and supranational bureaucracies manage to subjugate entire nations without firing a shot, we must unveil the secret bond that unites the oligarchy to the ideological superstructure of “Positive Human Rights.”
In previous chapters, we applied Thucydides’ Law (“The strong do what they can, and the weak suffer what they must”) inside our cities, demonstrating how the State inverted the vectors, making the criminal the Strong and the citizen the Weak. But if we apply Thucydides on a geopolitical scale, we discover that supranational organizations use human rights ideology for the exact same purpose: as a weapon of mass destruction against popular sovereignty.
To unmask this deception, one only needs to observe the genetic difference between how original National Constitutions were born and how European Charters of Rights were born.
A. Physiological Genesis (National Constitutions) When the great Western democracies wrote their Constitutions, who held the pen? The “Strong” at that historical moment was the Constituent Assembly. These men were the direct expression of the Horizontal Vector (the people): they had been elected, they had fought wars of liberation, they had shed blood on the territory, and their limbic system shared the same language and the same sufferings as the base. When they wrote down rights and duties, they did so to seal a vital biological pact of survival among peers. The Law was the organic emanation of a real community.
B. Pathological Genesis (Supranational Charters and the Titanium Ceiling) Who, on the other hand, wrote the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union or the great supranational treaties? It was not the peoples. The pen was held by top-down appointed commissions of technocrats, bureaucrats, jurists, and Brussels officials whom no one ever elected and who never shed a drop of sweat or blood for the territory they claim to govern.
In this new ecosystem, the unelected Oligarchy has become Thucydides’ “new Athens” (the Strong doing what it wants), while the European Peoples have been degraded to the “new Melos” (the Weak suffering what it must).
Explanatory Example: Let us imagine that the people of a European Nation, exhausted by economic crisis and degradation, vote by an absolute majority for a government that promises to close borders to illegal immigration to defend its own network. The Nation is activating its natural coercive force. But as soon as the government tries, Brussels’ Empty Machine intervenes. It doesn’t send tanks: it sends a court ruling. The oligarchy declares that closing borders violates the “Human Rights Treaties.” And who wrote those treaties? The oligarchy itself.
The short-circuit is lethal. The supranational Oligarchy has created a set of abstract ethical rules, disconnected from the material reality of social DNA, constructing a literal Continental Titanium Ceiling. Inalienable human rights are no longer the shield protecting the citizen from power; they have morphed into the supreme weapon with which unelected Power paralyzes the nations’ antibodies and forbids citizens from governing their own homes.
Under the mask of “moral progress,” the oligarchy empties the popular vote of meaning. The peoples go to the polls deluding themselves that they can change things, but the Empty Machine always replies: “You cannot do it, the Human Rights Treaties that we ourselves wrote forbid it.” Democracy is thus anesthetized and replaced by the tyranny of the unelected.
3. The European Union: The Excel Spreadsheet that Ignores Biology
The European Union represents the political incarnation of a cold brain (a left-hemisphere hypertrophy), obsessively focused on procedural standardization and totally blind to the living, relational reality of local communities. The initial project of a common market to prevent wars in Europe has been swallowed by an unprecedented bureaucratic hypertrophy, a gigantic Evolutionary Mismatch where an Excel spreadsheet pretends to govern the biology of millions of people.
Explanatory Example: Think of the “Green” directives imposed by Brussels. A Sicilian farmer or a Breton fisherman is suddenly informed that his means of subsistence, passed down through generations, is outlawed because an algorithm has established new quotas or new emission standards. Or think of the “Green Homes” directive: millions of middle-class families are forced to spend tens of thousands of euros (which they do not have) to renovate their homes according to parameters imposed by European officials. For Brussels’ Empty Machine, the anxiety, the stress (cortisol), and the despair of those families do not exist; the only thing that matters is that the abstract bureaucratic parameters match.
This degeneration was predicted by lucid leaders. Margaret Thatcher, in her historic Bruges Speech of 1988, warned: “We have not successfully rolled back the frontiers of the state in Britain, only to see them re-imposed at a European level, with a European super-state exercising a new dominance from Brussels.”
The historic leader of the British Left, Tony Benn, identified the democratic anomaly of the European Commission by devising his famous “Five Questions for Power”: “What power have you got? Where did you get it from? In whose interests do you exercise it? To whom are you accountable? And how can we get rid of you?” To the European supranational oligarchy, led by appointed and unelected Commissioners, it is impossible to ask the fifth question. If a people cannot peacefully get rid of those who govern them, they do not live in a democracy, but in a bureaucratic tyranny.
4. NATO: The Autoimmune Disease and the Enemy Factory
If the EU is the dictatorship of the abstract norm, NATO is the clinical demonstration of military autopoiesis. In biology, an immune system (a white blood cell) activates in the presence of a virus and shuts down, returning to a resting state, when the threat has been eradicated, deactivating the release of adrenaline. NATO was born exactly as a geopolitical antibody against a specific virus: the Soviet Union. When the Soviet bloc collapsed (1991), the threat disappeared. Physiological logic would have dictated the dismantling or drastic downsizing of the Alliance to allow the peoples to return to a state of thermodynamic rest.
But an Empty Machine never commits suicide voluntarily. The enormous Military-Industrial Complex upholding the Alliance had to continue justifying its stellar budgets and the stars of its generals. What does an immune system do when it doesn’t shut down after the body is healthy? It turns into an autoimmune disease. Unmoored from a real danger, it begins to attack healthy tissues.
NATO has become an “Enemy Factory.” It had to inexorably expand Eastward, encircling the borders of others, creating artificial geopolitical friction to provoke reactions and reactivate the bogeyman of an imminent threat. The danger of this expansion was not denounced by conspiracy theorists, but from within the establishment. George F. Kennan, one of the greatest American diplomats of the twentieth century (architect of the anti-Soviet “containment” policy), in 1997 defined NATO’s eastward expansion as “the most fateful error of American policy in the entire post-cold war era.” Kennan mathematically predicted that expanding military borders would not bring security, but would provoke and inflame Russia’s nationalism, triggering the rival power’s amygdala. But the Empty Machine ignored him: it desperately needed the world to overheat to justify its own existence.
5. Incorporation Techniques: From Seduction to Terror
How does a macro-parasite convince sovereign Nations to be incorporated? It uses two ruthless engineering techniques.
A. The Topological Trap (EU Expansion Technique) The EU uses economic seduction. It promises prosperity and entry into the “civilized world” through European Funds. Explanatory Example: Think of a Nation in Eastern Europe or the Mediterranean basin. The EU offers them a sort of “golden credit card” (funds and loans at subsidized rates). The nation takes the bait, plunging into debt to build infrastructure or fuel its public spending, convinced it has become rich for free. But it is a topological trap. When the time comes to pay the debts, the Nation is bankrupt. At that point arrives the Troika (ECB, IMF, Commission), which doesn’t send tanks, but accountants. To repay the loans, the Nation is forced to privatize its industry, sell off its ports, close hospitals, and slash wages. The Nation has surrendered all its Degrees of Freedom (NDoF): it has been digested by the financial parasite.
B. Panic Engineering (NATO Expansion Technique) Military expansion, on the other hand, uses terror to generate an unbearable Predictive Error (Δp) in the masses. Just as pathological pharmaceutical companies invent the disease to sell you the cure, NATO applies Panic Engineering. Explanatory Example: If you want to sell alarm systems to an entire peaceful condominium, you don’t advertise: you pay a thug to smash the windows of the building across the street. The residents, with their limbic systems terrified, will come to you begging to buy your alarms at any price. Likewise, NATO pushes aggressively up to the borders of the great rival power. Inevitably, the rival power (like a bear poked with a stick) reacts to the encirclement and attacks the buffer zone. At that moment, the Empty Machine activates media terror: it convinces neighboring neutral nations that “they will be invaded tomorrow.” Terrified, these nations (see Sweden and Finland) beg for membership in the Alliance, gifting NATO with new territories, new budgets, and billions in armaments purchases.
5.1 Terminal Fusion: The Ukrainian Laboratory
The perfect synthesis, the moment when the EU’s economic bait and NATO’s military pincers merged into a single extractive monster, exploded dramatically with the war in Ukraine.
Ukraine represented the clinical laboratory of pathological expansionism. First, the European Union prepared the ground by triggering the Topological Trap: it offered the illusion of wealth and anchoring to “Western civil rights” to economically detach the Country from the Russian sphere. Immediately after, NATO activated Panic Engineering: it promised military umbrellas and trained troops until brushing against the borders of the rival nuclear power.
The reaction (the war) was the realization of the Empty Machine’s greatest thermodynamic dream. The explosion of the conflict was not a “tragedy” for the Brussels bureaucracy or the Washington Military-Industrial Complex: it was a godsend. Thanks to the war in Ukraine, the system’s autopoiesis reached its zenith:
- NATO resurrected itself from brain death (quoting Macron), forcing all European Nations to bleed themselves dry, pouring billions of euros to empty their arsenals and buy new, exorbitant American weapons.
- The European Union used the pretext of the “war emergency” to armor its authority: it imposed censorship on unwelcome news outlets, and it imposed self-harming sanctions that forced Europe to renounce low-cost Russian energy to buy American liquefied gas at exorbitant prices, destroying the continent’s industry.
The oligarchy convinced European citizens to voluntarily impoverish themselves, to pay stellar utility bills, and to cede their industrial sovereignty in the name of the “clash between democracy and autocracy.” In reality, the conflict served solely as the perfect fuel to feed the unquenchable energy hunger of the supranational parasite, forcing European peoples to burn their Thermodynamic Surplus.
Conclusion: Implosion Under Its Own Weight
Whether through financial seduction or military terror, the supranational oligarchy expands like a black hole, disregarding the physiology of the human being and trampling organic communities and their defensive biology.
However, the laws of systemic physics cannot be evaded endlessly. There is a geometric limit to autopoiesis. The more the Empty Machine incorporates new territories and drains wealth to centralize power, the more the internal Tensorial Heat (ΦHS) accumulated by the betrayed peoples increases. Crushed by inflation, deprived of their industrial identity, and sent to finance wars for the survival of the bureaucracy, the base nodes overheat. And in nature, when a parasite becomes too voracious and consumes all the energy of the host organism without offering it anything in return, it implodes under the weight of its own inefficiency, leading to a drastic and inescapable thermodynamic collapse of the system.
