Example: Even when lying down, our QS distinguishes the part of the body facing the ceiling (ventral) from the part touching the bed (dorsal) as two parallel and intrinsic surfaces to the body.

C. Second-Level Intrinsic Interaction: Conditioned Fractionation

The Superficial Intrinsic Interaction (Ventral/Dorsal) is further fractionated into two pairs of parallel orientations that remain Intrinsic but are conditioned by Extrinsic Interaction (the triggering factor). The Prognostica Mens (PM) manages this triggering process.

Superior / Inferior Fractionation: Triggered by ground contact and gravity. Example: Gravity triggers the Superior/Inferior orientation, establishing the head as the Superior point and the feet as the Inferior point, which is essential for balance.
Front / Back Fractionation: Triggered by the direction of gaze and the direction of action. Example: The Prognostica Mens projects the action along the Front/Back dimension, defining the destination as “Front.”

The final three pairs (Left/Right, Front/Back, Superior/Inferior) are all Intrinsic and interact through perpendicularity to define the Soma‘s three-dimensional space.

Autonomously Fractionable Entities (people, chairs) possess their own complete system of autonomous Intrinsic Interactions (First and Second Level). These three dimensions are mutually perpendicular and do not require our Somatic Specification.

Relational Extrinsic Interaction (Soma/Entity): Interaction with another entity occurs by mapping their respective intrinsic systems. Example: To stand in line (front/back), the two Front/Back orientations align. To stand next to another, a complex mapping of our Left onto the other entity’s Right is required. The ability to perform this mapping is a crucial test of Hierarchical Conditionality.

2. Unilateral Spatial Neglect: The Collapse of Intrinsic Interaction

Neglect (USN) is the failure of Intrinsic Interaction to fractionate space in an absolute manner. It represents the categorical non-existence of the contralateral space.

A. Fractionation Fails: Categorical Non-Existence

The primary deficit is the QS’s inability to impose the structural division on the contralateral hemispace.

Integrity of Absolute Fractionation: The patient with GS maintains the full integrity of their First- and Second-Level Intrinsic dimensions. They absolutely recognize their right/left, their front/back (Ventral/Dorsal), and their superior/inferior parts (correctly triggered by gravity and ground contact).
- Functional Confirmation: The ability to perform actions dependent on these Intrinsic dimensions—such as sitting on a chair (stable use of Superior/Inferior) or standing in line (alignment of one’s own Front/Back orientation with another entity)—demonstrates that the extrinsic triggering of the Second-Level divisions onto one’s own Soma is perfectly functional.
The Failure: Hierarchical Synthesis and Inversion: The failure in GS occurs when the Ego Cogitans (EC) must perform the hierarchical synthesis and logical inversion required by Relational Extrinsic Interaction. It is not a problem of “this is not my right” (Intrinsic), but of “how do I relate my right to the left of that other person/object/symbol” (Relational Extrinsic).

4. Impact on the Ego Agens (EA): Intention and Domain of Action 🏃

The Ego Agens (EA) is the evolutionary functional sphere that embodies intention, movement, and Self-awareness in action. Its operation relies on the structural and relational clarity of space provided by the QS and PM.

A. USN and the Ego Agens: The Reduction of the Action Domain

The collapse of the absolute Intrinsic fractionation caused by USN structurally reduces the space that the EA recognizes as act-able upon.

Dissolution of Bilateral Intention: The EA does not fail in motor execution per se, but fails to generate the intention to initiate an action in an area that the QS has categorically deleted. If the left space does not exist as a structural category (Hic), it cannot be included in the domain of action possibilities for the EA.
Failure of Automatic Correction: The EA is disinterested in correcting the Neglect precisely because the lack of fractionation renders the neglected area a structural blind spot that the EA does not attempt to “fill” or explore.

B. GS and the Ego Agens: The Instability of Mapped Action

In GS, the EA’s deficit is relational and implementational in nature, due to the failure of the PM’s Hierarchical Conditionality.

The Ego Socialis (ES) is the functional sphere that manages social roles and interaction with others, acting based on the information provided by the Prognostica Mens (PM).

A. USN and the Ego Socialis: Withdrawal Due to Non-Existence

The failure of the absolute Intrinsic fractionation imposed by USN translates into a forced, structural withdrawal from one half of the social space.

Collapse of Bilateral Social Presence: The USN patient structurally ignores people or stimuli positioned in the neglected hemispace.
Compromised Social Role: If a social role requires complete spatial awareness (e.g., a “Head of the Table” who must manage all diners), the patient fails because half of the “audience” is not structurally fractionated and does not exist for the ES.
Personal Disinterest and Anosognosia: The anosognosia that often accompanies USN leads to ignoring attempts to conform to social norms of self-care and complete presence (e.g., brushing both sides of the hair). This undermines the social image and the ability to fulfill the social role of a Tidy/Present Person.

The failure in Relational Extrinsic Interaction in GS compromises the ES in roles requiring complex mapping between one’s own Soma and the Social Role or the Person/Entity being related to.

Failure to Maintain Relational Role (Inversion): The patient fails at social tasks requiring them to adopt another’s spatial perspective (e.g., pointing to objects relative to another person).
- Impact on ES: The difficulty performing perspective inversion and complex mapping prevents them from holding social roles requiring rapid and reliable spatial conditionality between Entities (e.g., “Instructor,” “Manager” giving spatial directions).
Failure in Social Symbolic Manipulation: The symptoms (Acalculia/Agrafia) preclude effectiveness in social roles involving the use of spatially ordered symbolic systems (documents, accounting).

Truncated Cognitive Morphogenesis: When the EC must construct a mental representation or structure that requires the totality of space (e.g., a complete mental map), it is structurally truncated.
Non-Existence of the Variable: Cognitive Morphogenesis does not fail in the process of construction, but fails because the spatial variable on one side is non-existent. The EC cannot generate a complete form because the fundamental “building blocks” of a structural dimension are missing.
